Art Gallery

Art Gallery Interior Design Where Every Wall Becomes Part of the Experience

About the Project

The interior design of this art gallery is a unique blend of art, architecture and atmosphere created with a modest visual vocabulary. Soft beige tones create the background that allows the artworks to shine and adds the warmth of terracotta to make the place special and authentic, but not distracting.

The layout of the long gallery allows moving from one section to another and experiencing the entire collection step by step. Contemporary paintings, handmade pieces and textured wall panels are placed in designated areas. Custom wall mouldings, recessed niches, patterned screens and floating shelves add architectural rhythm while creating different opportunities to present artwork and objects.

Lighting forms an important part of the overall composition. The track lights, recessed lights, and accent fixtures are designed to highlight each piece but at the same time keep the entire gallery feeling warm. The inclusion of the central display table adds another dimension to small works of art and creations while built-in storage space ensures that the functional needs of the space are well catered for in the design of the gallery.

Allowing the Space to Frame the Artwork

One of the best features of the space being designed is the interplay between the art work and its surroundings. Rather than making the architectural details of the space clash with each other, these features have been used to enhance and frame the collection. Neutral-colored walls give breathing space visually while moldings, niches and patterns add layers to the displays.

Thus, every wall has something going for it. While some walls act as the background, others add texture or pattern to the displays. The use of proper lighting focuses attention on the individual pieces. It is the mix of contemporary detailing, earthy colors, warm lights and traditional inspired patterns that give the gallery its character.
